Hunter Dickinson Congratulates Mark Rebagliati Recently Inducted into Canadian Mining Hall of Fame
January 22, 2014 Vancouver, BC -- Hunter Dickinson Inc. (HDI) congratulates Mark Rebagliati on his recent induction into the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame (CMHF). The CMHF recognizes individuals for their outstanding lifetime achievements in mineral exploration and mining. Mr. Rebagliati joins a select group of respected industry peers who are exceptional leaders in their field.
"Mark is being recognized for his exemplary technical skills and his remarkable ability to identify significant mineral deposits in a long career that includes an unusually large number of major discoveries and project advancements," says Robert Dickinson, HDI Chairman.
Mr. Rebagliati received a degree in geological engineering from Michigan Technological University in 1969. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia (BC), he worked for a number of major companies prior to establishing Rebagliati Geological Consulting in 1986. Mr. Rebagliati worked for Consolidated Goldfields, BP Minerals Canada, and other companies, and during the 1970s was a member of the discovery teams at the Red Chris project near Dease Lake and the QR project near Quesnel, BC.
Associated with the HDI group of companies since 1986, he has evaluated numerous properties and led HDI teams in exploration efforts in BC and around the world. This collaboration has resulted in a number of important global discoveries, including the Mt Milligan and Kemess deposits in BC, the Pebble East zone of the world-class Pebble copper-gold-molybdenum Pebble deposit in Alaska, the copper-gold Xietongmen and Newtongmen deposits in China and several of the discoveries at the Campo Morado district in Mexico.
Over a long and distinguished career, Mr. Rebagliati has been recognized on numerous occasions for his successful achievements in mineral exploration and development. He received the 1992 Spud Huestis Award from the Association of Mineral Exploration BC (AME BC) for excellence in exploration and the 1997 Bill Dennis Prospector of the Year Award from the Prospectors and Developers Association (PDAC). In 2007, he was co-recipient with the HDI team for the Thayer Lindsley International Discovery Award from the PDAC. He also received the 2008 Robert M. Dreyer Award from the Society of Mining Metallurgy and Exploration for outstanding achievements in Applied Economic Geology and the 2009 Colin Spence Award from AME BC for excellence in global exploration.
In addition to his career accomplishments, Mr. Rebagliati has been an important mentor to other explorationists while advancing projects and through his presentations at conferences and short courses at AME BC's Roundup, the PDAC convention and other conferences around the world.
